Unconventional Fanworks Exchange is a gift exchange for fanwork besides traditional fic and art, including (but not limited to): meta, in-universe documents, vids, podfic, audio not!fic, chatfic, and multimedia fanwork.
There are some significant changes to this round of Unconventional Fanworks. First and foremost, this year's round will run on Dreamwidth only. This means you do not need an AO3 account to participate, but you do need a Dreamwidth account. All portions of the exchange will be run through Dreamwidth.

All deadlines are at 10pm US Central (that's 0300 UTC on the following day).

Welcome to the official nominations post for 2025. Please read all guidelines before nominating.
Each participant may nominate a maximum of 5 medium types and 5 fandoms. There is no limit to the number of characters you may nominate in each fandom. In contrast to previous rounds, no relationships or groups may be nominated.
Can I Nominate...
- Original Works? Yes!
- RPF? Yes, as long as all nominated persons are 18+ and famous in their own right.
- Worldbuilding? Yes!
- Creator's Choice of Fandom? No. I will add this in at the end of nominations.
- "Any X Character"? Yes!
- Existing fanworks (in order to create recursive fanworks)? Yes, as long as you provide me with a link to a permission statement by the original fanwork creator. I will not search for this myself.
Please nominate fandom/characters and medium types in separate comments. This helps me keep track of them. If you include both in the same comment, I will only accept the one you've listed first. The first two top-level comments are examples from me.
If you're using a specific phrasing for a medium that may not be easily found with a quick web search, please include a link! This helps me determine if it's appropriate for this event and, further, to create a specific minimum.

This puzzle is about the original/Beta Blaseball and does not use any information about Prehistory, the Short Circuits or the Coronation Era.I do recommend using the Blaseball Wiki or other such resource on the Tigers - nothing here should be insanely obscure or "only 2020 Tigers remember", but I did have fun with it.

Design Size: 70 x 60 stitches (Final result measures 10.5 cm x 10 cm)
Materials:
- 8 x 8 inch white 14-count Aida cloth
- 6 inch embroidery hoop (optional)
- DMC Stranded Cotton according to the color chart
Directions:
Find the center of the fabric, then work according to the pattern using two strands of cotton floss. This pattern is done entirely in crosses and half stitches; there are no backstitches.
Download the pattern and color chart as a pdf here.
Feel free to make any changes according to your own preferences, and if you stitch this pattern, I'd love to see it! I am marquisguyun most places except Discord.
I chose the character 陪, meaning 'to accompany,' from the quote 我答应过你要陪你走到最后一日 (I promised you that I would accompany you to the very end) from Episode 54 of Nirvana in Fire. The quote is from the scene where Lin Chen gives Mei Changsu the Bingxu pill, so it matches the elements in my design, but it is also a great summary of their relationship in general! It's not solely about the inevitable end, but the support and friendship along the journey.
My pattern was inspired by a couple of designs from A Cross Stitcher's Oriental Odyssey by Joan Elliot, which I was able to check out from my local library. The "Little Treasures" designs on pages 42-45 all featured a single character, nature elements of some kind, and a circular design, which I liked. The scale of the project was more or less determined by the minimum size I wanted 陪 to be in order to make the character look nice.
